Bursaries and funding 2019-20

You may be able to get student finance to help pay for the course fees and to help with living costs. The Student Finance England application service is now open, and applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/studentfinance. To ensure funding is received in time for course start dates, the deadline for submitting applications is 24th May for new students and 21st June for continuing students.

For Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography, Maths, Languages and Physics, scholarship funding is available.

Mathematics: the Institute of Mathematics offers Maths Teacher Training Scholarships of £22K for the training year, followed by two later payments of at least £5K (enhanced payments of £7.5K if teaching in specified areas in England) in your 3rd and 5th year of teaching, providing you have taught in a state-funded school in England since completing your ITT. It also offers two years free membership of professional bodies and access to superb professional resources and CPD events.
