Bucks School Swimming Partnership

In collaboration with Astra, Aylesbury High School leads and operates the Bucks School Swimming Partnership (BSSP), which has been contracted by Buckinghamshire Council to fulfil its statutory obligations with regards to school swimming in the county. BSSP are running a Covid friendly Secondary Teacher of School Swimming Course on Thursday 11th February 2021 at Green Park Conference Centre, Aston Clinton, HP22 5NE and have 12 places to offer (on a first come first serve basis). Please find attached a course flyer, Covid19 information sheet and the application form.
BSSP has established a robust network with all Buckinghamshire schools who provide swimming for their pupils (166 in total). For primary schools School Swimming is a statutory part of their Physical Education Curriculum and BSSP ensures that they, along with those secondary schools that have swimming on their curriculum, are compliant with statutory regulations for school swimming (in accordance with the Bucks Safe Practice in School Swimming Policy and Guidance).
The BSSP provides support to schools on their swimming curriculum, H&S requirements and sharing of good practice through the well established Buckinghamshire School Swimming Focus Group. The BSSP runs a range of Swim England and bespoke school swimming training for schools in Buckinghamshire (119 schools) and Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire providing relevant and effective CPD and qualifications for teachers and non-teaching staff (primary, secondary and SEND) to support school swimming.  BSSP works closely with national organisations such as Swim England, RNLI and RLSS to move forward a number of national and local initiatives, training and projects.
