The Astra Teaching School Hub and Astra School-Centred Initial Teacher Training provider (SCITT) is committed to providing outstanding learning opportunities for all, through training, support and action research. We work with over 60 schools and organisations across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, and our vision is to achieve and deliver:

Working with Goldsmiths, University of London, we provide both QTS and PGCE training for new entrants in local primary and secondary schools, offering a wide range of subjects for both salaried and fee-funded / bursary-led places. For existing teachers, the wide range of our popular continuing professional development programmes demonstrate our commitment to high-quality, low-cost training for teachers at every stage of their career. We also work in collaboration with other Buckinghamshire Teaching Schools, providing exciting leadership development opportunities, with generous subsidies available for non-selective schools.

Astra is also one of only 87 national Teaching School Hubs, accredited by the DfE to offer support within and beyond the training year.
