Recruitment for our 2021-22 courses is now open; applications can be made via UCAS/DfE Apply. Further information about the Apply route can be found in these slides.
Details of our Astra training places can be found here. We offer a one year full-time course, and, for Primary and some Secondary subjects, a two year part-time course
Astra will be present at the following DfE Train to Teach virtual events, so if you'd like to talk to us, please do sign up - we look forward to seeing you there:
Tuesday 9th March 5pm -7pm
Saturday 27th March 10am - 1pm
In addition, as school experience opportunities are limited this year, you are also welcome to 'get a flavour' of our three Lead Hub schools, our Lead Primary school, and one of our partner schools, by viewing their virtual open events:
- Dr Challoner's Grammar School
- Aylesbury High School
- Sir William Borlase's Grammar School
- Great Kingshill CE Combined School
- Aylesbury Grammar School
You can also see some of our 2017-18 trainee cohort talking about their experiences with the Astra SCITT in the videos below:
Choose a career that inspires you
And finally, this DfE film 'Every lesson shapes a life', underscores the unparalleled role that teachers play in shaping young people's lives.
We look forward to receiving your application.
Safeguarding is at the forefront of all our selection processes and decision-making.
