The Golden Thread - Astra Teaching School Hub

IMG 1352Astra SCITT and its partner organisation Astra Teaching School Hub together provide the 'golden thread' in teacher education.  The 'golden thread' refers to the continuous, evidence-based pathway of professional development that seamlessly connects Initial Teacher Training (ITT), the Early Career Training Programme (ECTP), and National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) to support teachers and leaders at every stage of their careers.

Whatever your experience, Astra provides training designed to support your development as a professional teacher.

 

Collaborating with schools across Buckinghamshire, Astra Teaching School Hub partners with local curriculum hubs, national providers and research institutions to offer:

  • Initial Teacher Training (ITT) leading to QTS through Astra SCITT and a PGCE through Bath Spa University
     
  • The Early Career Training Programme (ECTP) in partnership with University College London (UCL IOE)
     
  • Appropriate Body services (Induction) for Early Career Teachers
     
  • National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) in partnership with Best Practice Network
