We're almost saying goodbye to this year's trainees. But as our trainees are well aware, the end of the training year is just the start of a career.

Amanda Timmington, Astra' Teaching School Hub's Co-Principal, got trainees off to a flying start today in their ECT (Early Career Teacher) years, with an outline of the ECT induction programme and the role of the Appropriate Body.

Over 90% of this year's cohort have secured employment in schools across Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas, in schools of all types: primary, selective, non-selective, special, maintained and independent.

The final day of the Astra QTS training course also included time for completing Career Entry Profiles, course evaluations and a buffet lunch.

On Monday, trainees will have formally leave the course at the annual Certification Evening at Dr Challoner's Grammar School. Graduation from Bath Spa for PGCE trainees will be in October.

As this year's trainees complete their studies, Astra is also welcoming next year's trainees at our induction days in Aylesbury and Amersham.
