June 2025 - Applications Update

Astra 70We have had a strong year for teacher training applications, so if you are hoping to apply for admission to our training courses from September 2025, the advice is to apply now.

Places are filling up and from application to acceptance on the course can take eight weeks or longer during school holiday periods. All courses will be closing by early July and we have already closed a small number of courses.

Due to the way that staffing allocations work in partner schools, you are also more likely to get a placement in one of your preferred schools by applying now, before teacher timetables are finalised.  Note that we do not accept any applications during the summer holidays as we are unable to interview you in a partner school.

Important Actions before Applying

  1. Ensure you have selected the correct course. Have a look at our courses, including guidance on finding the right course.

  2. Check you have the required qualifications:
  • Read our entry criteria. A common reason for rejection is insufficient subject knowledge; for secondary courses, you must have a first degree in your chosen subject or a closely related area. If in any doubt, please contact us first.
  • You will also need to have GCSEs or equivalencies passed in English and Maths (+ Science for primary) before the start of the course.
  • Give a full picture of your qualifications including A levels or equivalents.
  1. Check your whole application. Personal statements should be just that - personal - and not AI generated.

If you would like to discuss any aspects of making an application, please in the first instance email Thahera, our Recruitment Manager, via recruitment@astra-alliance.com. Selection for teacher training is rigorous, but we're here to help make it as straightforward as possible.
