The Astra SCITT 2026-27 policies stipulate that trainees are financially liable for their tuition fees, which must be paid by strict deadlines to avoid course suspension. To achieve QTS, trainees must complete 120 placement days, maintain 90% attendance at Professional Studies, meet all DfE Teachers' Standards, and pass all assignments. Progression issues or professional misconduct will trigger an Additional Support Form or a Cause for Concern framework, which can lead to course termination. Before enrolment, trainees must clear enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks, alongside an occupational health assessment. Trainee data is strictly managed under the Data Protection Act 2018, requiring absolute pupil anonymity in coursework. Eligible bursaries are only paid during active study and are immediately suspended upon withdrawal or deferral. Finally, any recruitment or training grievances are addressed via a staged internal Complaints Procedure, which can ultimately be escalated externally to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).
