The Challenges of ITT from September 2024 - Information Meetings for Schools on 19 or 30 January

Posted on: 15/12/2023

Astra 20Ahead of forthcoming changes from September 2024, ITT is currently undergoing significant remodelling, with changes to requirements around mentoring and overall course structure.

In response to these and the challenges of recruitment and retention in teaching, Astra SCITT has been working over the last eighteen months to create a successful model of teacher training that works for our partner schools.  We know our provision is going to train teachers who thrive in our schools, through the right blend of support and challenge with a curriculum that will embed the changes required. At this early stage we want to help you prepare for the changes so you and your staff can approach teacher training in 2024 and beyond with confidence.

Fully accredited by the DfE to offer Initial Teacher Training, we would be delighted to share with you details of our updated programmes at one of our launch meetings, which are taking place on:

  • Friday, 19 January, 9:15am-11:15am at Aylesbury Grammar School

  • Tuesday, 30 January, 4:15pm-6:15pm at Dr Challoner's Grammar School, Amersham

Please sign up here for one of these meetings.  Meetings will be appropriate both for primary and secondary headteachers and ITTCos/ Professional Tutors and further details will be sent prior to each meeting.

In the meantime, if you would like to discuss any aspects of Astra SCITT ITT programmes, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please email hello@astra-alliance.com
